Google, Leboncoin… 10 companies prefer employees by 2023, according to Glassdoor
The well-being at work is featured. After the eighth edition of the ranking of companies preferred by the employees unveiled this Wednesday, January 11, per Glassdoor, the world’s leading information on jobs and companies, the top employers in 2023 stand out by their attention to the balance between the professional life and the personal life of their employees, by the autonomy that they attached to them, or by the development opportunities they offer. “It is encouraging to see that companies are redoubling their efforts to promote the well-being and mental health of their employees, promote diversity and inclusion, provide competitive advantages, and create a flexible working environment at the dawn of 2023,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, CEO of Glassdoor, in a press release.
The ranking rewards the 25 best employers in France, according to the notice given by the employees. This year, the giant of the web Google came in first with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5, after you took 22nd place in 2022. “On a background of redundancies in the giants of the tech, Google pulls its pin from the game in terms of well-being an employee […]. With 1,300 employees in the country, Google is often praised for the initiatives it offers around the quality of work life, such as recently the possibility of telecommuting 20 days per year abroad” details Glassdoor.
The sector of tech and digital strongly represented
Then come the fintech Murex (4,7 out of 5) and the classified ads website Leboncoin (4,7 out of 5). Companies in the tech and digital are number in the rankings this year: Google, Murex, Leboncoin, the publisher of the software professional SAP, the French start-up specializing in retargeting advertising Criteo, and the editor of online solutions for customer relationship management Salesforce feature in the top 10.

Note that for the sake of readability, the middle notes have been rounded to the nearest tenth (one digit after the decimal point) by Glassdoor, but in reality, the scores are going up to the thousandth to determine the position of each company in the final standings. Elsewhere in the classification, we found the Française des Jeux (16th place), Microsoft (17th), Orange (19th century), Chanel (20th), Apple (23rd), Hermes (24th), or the Decathlon (25th).
To be part of the selection of Glassdoor, companies must rely on more than 1,000 employees and have received their employees working in France at least 20 ratings on nine different aspects (work environment general, career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, diversity and inclusion, the leadership team, the balance between professional life and private life, the number of recommendations to a friend, the assessment of the prospects to six months). The opinions were shared anonymously by employees between October 19, 2021, and October 17, 2022, which were noted from 1 to 5 in their business on these nine criteria. Each company must have obtained an overall score of at least 3.5 on average, and a score of at least 2.5 for each of the nine factors to be analyzed to be included in the ranking. Note that 2.3 million companies valued in the world on Glassdoor have obtained an average rating of 3.7 out of 5.
Glassdoor carries out this ranking of the best employers in five different countries (France, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany). In 2023, three companies are included in the set of selections from the employer favorite of the employees carried out in each of these countries: Microsoft, SAP, and Salesforce.
